Shereen Mahmoud is an Egyptian Australian Visual Artist based in Brisbane, Australia. She was born in Cairo-Egypt 1977, She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts with honours, and a major in Sculpture from The Faculty Of Fine Arts-Helwan University Cairo-Egypt in the year 2000. She moved to Australia in November 2013. She exhibited her work through many solo and group exhibitions, and taught art through many TV shows. She was featured in many publications and on TV.

Shereen is known for her expressive self-portraits & explosive bold colours.Her artistic journey is an exploration of her truth, her being, and her presence as a part of the human experience, an exploration of consciousness. Shereen`s work delves into the human condition exploring both the fragility and resilience of the human mind, body and soul. Her work Explores the human condition with its contrasts; the light and the dark, questioning the fragility of our reality and existence, exploring our human limitations, our beliefs and identities, the relations we form with the self and the surroundings and our capacity as humans to evolve and transcend our limitations, live our truth, create and recreate ourselves over and over. Her work aims to seek the truth, remove the social masks, labels, judgment, and bring more peace, compassion and connectedness to the world.

Shereen is an Interdisciplinary Artist who is constantly exploring and experimenting with different mediums, art forms, integrating them in an unconventional manner and crossing the boundaries between art disciplines. She uses a variety of media in her creative process including; painting, photography, body art, digital art, sculpture, Installations, video art, drawing, wearable art, dance & performance art. She has a unique style of work that she calls “The Experiment “.

Her art encourages self-awareness and self-expression. The viewers of her art shows and exhibitions often feel transported into another world, a vibrant world of color, freedom of expression, and boundless energy. She is usually a part of her art exhibitions where she transforms herself into an artwork and performs live. She is one with her work, you see no separation between her artistic journey and her human journey.
